On April 9, 2025, Sister Mary O'Donovan, O.Carm. and Sister Helena of Mary, O.Carm. were invited to visit and give a vocation talk at Saint Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York. The invitation came through the kindness of Sister Maria Veritas, O.P., a member of the Dominicans of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and Sister Maria Veritas was so gracious in introducing the Sisters to her students. She explained that she wanted the students to meet other religious Sisters and to see the differences in the religious habits that different congregations wear, as well as to hear about the ministry of the Carmelite Sisters. The day started at 8:00 am and ended around 12:30 pm. Sister Mary gave a talk on her vocation story and religious life. There was a very lively Q&A facilitated by Sr. Mary Veritas and the students themselves. There were four different classes meeting at 8:13 to 8:51 am; 10:16 am to 10:54 am; 11:57 am to 11:25 am; and 11:59 am to 12:27pm. Another invited guest was a Dominican religious priest who met with the male students to hear about the Priesthood and Religious life. Over all, it was a great opportunity to meet young people who were very well mannered, inquisitive and open to hearing about religious life and  the Gospel message.
