Sister M. Teresa Robert O.Carm.  passed away at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, Columbus, Ohio, on Monday night, March 11, 2024, in the 62nd year of her religious life. Her health having failed years ago, Sr. Teresa Robert was admitted to the nursing home in 2016, where she received loving care from the Sisters and staff.

Mildred Agnes Nekoranec was born in Rossford, Ohio, on December 28, 1933 the fifth of eight children born to Peter and Catherine (nee Myers) Nekoranec. Her father was born in Czechoslovakia (now known as the Czech Republic or Czechia) and her mother was born in West Virginia.  After graduating High School in 1953, Sr. Robert served several years in the United States Navy and entered the Community on September 8, 1962. She professed First Vows on April 19,1965 and made Perpetual Profession on November 21, 1971. Her vow of Obedience brought her to The Pennsylvania (1965-1972), Lourdes Residence (1972-1976), St. Patrick’s Residence (1976-1980), Sacred Heart Manor (1980-2002), Carmel Manor (2002-2010), and finally to Mother Angeline McCrory Manor where she has been since 2010.

Sr. Teresa Robert assumed various responsibilities over the years and served in housekeeping, dietary, medical records, purchasing and communications. She enjoyed baking homemade pumpkin pies and mince pies with hard sauce, especially at Thanksgiving. She also loved to decorate for Christmas, enjoyed grocery shopping for the Sisters, and working in the ice cream parlor at The Villas at St. Therese. Sr. Robert had a rather dry sense of humor which brought joy to the Sisters, and she sometimes told stories about her service in the Navy.

We give thanks for Sr. M. Teresa Robert’s life in Community and for her service to God and Country. May her joy now be complete as she enters into eternal life!
