On August 20, 2022 , the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm welcomed their newly professed member, Sister Michelle Elizabeth Marie Nicosia, O.Carm. The Eucharistic liturgy and First Profession ceremony were held at Saint Teresa's Motherhouse in Germantown, NY with Most Reverend Edmund Whalen, Auxiliary Bishop of New York presiding. The event was attended by Sister Michelle's family- her father Michael, sister Olivia, relatives and friends. We remembered Sr. Michelle's deceased mother Catherine and other special persons who could not attend this special event. The concelebrants for the Mass were Rev. James Hess, O.Carm. and Rev. Christopher Argano. Brother Bob Chiulli, O.Carm. was the Master of Ceremonies. We also acknowledge the presence of our Carmelite Sisters from the different mission houses where Sister Michelle spent her Postulancy and mission experiences. On September 12, 2022, Sister Michelle Elizabeth Marie will begin her service as professed Sister to the Residents of Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus, OH. We congratulate Sister Michelle and wish her the best as she continues her journey in Carmel!
