On Saturday morning, March 19, 2022, the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Protector of the Order of Carmelites, and after nearly a decade of planning and building and many delays, the new Saint Albert's Priory in Middletown, New York was blessed and dedicated by The Most Reverend Gerardo Colacicco, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New York and Episcopal Vicar for Orange County.  Concelebrating with the Bishop were Father Mario Esposito, O.Carm., Prior Provincial of the North American Province of Saint Elias, and Father Michael Kissane, O.Carm., past Prior Provincial who was very much involved in the earlier planning for the new Priory, designed entirely for the care of the elderly Carmelite Friars of the Province.

Present was the Mayor of Middletown, Mr. Joseph DeStefano, and individuals who were responsible for the architectural design and building of the new St. Albert's and its beautiful chapel. Given the size and various other concerns, the Ceremony and Mass were only attended by the Friars, coworkers of the Carmelites, and a very limited number of guests, including the Prioress General of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, Mother Mary Rose, O.Carm..

A simple luncheon followed. The Carmelite Friars are deeply grateful to all their benefactors who contributed to the building of this new house, and all of the artisans, workers and staff members who assisted with this project. May Saint Joseph, whose feast was celebrated, guard and protect the holy family of Carmel that will dwell in the new St. Albert's Priory, originally founded September 17, 1917. God bless them all.
