Celebrating 25, 50, 60 and 70 Years of Religious Jubilees

On June 4, 2022, eight of our Carmelite Sisters celebrated their 25th, 50th, 60th and 70th religious jubilees. A Jubilee Eucharistic celebration was held at Saint Teresa's Motherhouse in Germantown, NY with Reverend Monsignor Joseph Hendricks of the Diocese of Columbus as the principal celebrant and homilist. Present as con-celebrants were Very Rev. Mario Esposito, O.Carm. as Master of Ceremonies, Right Reverend Austin Murphy, OSB, Reverend Paul Denault, O.Carm., Reverend James Donlon and Reverend Peter West. Reverend Jim Hess, O.Carm. was also in attendance. Brother Gregg Durham, O.Carm. assisted with the liturgy.

The event was made available to the public via live stream and families, friends, Carmelite Sisters and guests made the celebration festive. Our very own, Sister Mark Louis Anne Randall, O.Carm. was the organist and led the congregational choir in providing the music. Celebrations like these do not just happen without the generous and concerted efforts of our Avila Sisters who worked hard behind the scenes to make the day orderly, special and spiritual! Many thanks to all of them! The celebrations continued in Carmel Hall for the reception and socials.

We rejoice this day for the many blessings God has bestowed on our Congregation. Our jubilarians also celebrate with loving remembrance and gratitude the many special persons who helped them come to this time of joyous celebration. Last, but not least, we extend   our love and gratitude to our jubilarians who could not be present for the celebration. Their many years of service to God and His elderly are deeply acknowledged and appreciated! Congratulations dear Sisters!
