Catholic Sisters Week

Back to Events

On March 8-14, 2022, we celebrate Catholic Sisters' Week. This time gives us the opportunity to thank God for our own vocation to Carmel and the gift of our spiritual community and legacy handed to us by our Foundress, Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa. We also remember and thank all Catholic Sisters who minister to the poor and marginalized, to the young and old, and most especially, for the gift of themselves!  When Pope Francis made the remark to some 60 members of the Vatican Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, at the end of their plenary assembly on December 4, 2021, he said this: “Everything we do is at the service of the Gospel, and you, in particular, serve that 'gospel' which is consecrated life, so that it may be the gospel for the world today... "When one loses the memory of one’s history, one’s institution, of the wonders that God has done in the Church, in our institute, in my life," the Pope said, "we lose strength and we will not be able to give life." So let us celebrate this time with remembrance of the past, thanksgiving for the present and hope and faith in what the future brings! #CatholicSistersWeek
