Mary, do you remember the day?
Do you remember the moment?
Your way was hidden, yet so revealing.
This was all your doing, my coming to Carmel.
You enticed me to your garden,
Filled my heart with grandest longings,
I never thought it would be easy,
Dreamt of standing on cloud always,
It would have been so foolish, so childish
If I thought Carmel only grows roses.
But Mary, I trust you to guide me,
I trust you will never leave me,
To always comfort and carry me,
When the load gets too heavy ,
And the journey makes me weary.
And Mary, I trust in your motherly protection
In your never failing intercession,
And I know you'll never leave me,
I'll cry for help and you'll answer me,
In your maternal, quiet way.
Mary, what great assurance I have in thee!
Though weak and frail, it is my certainty,
Strongly I believe in your love for me,
Nothing will ever separate me from thee
For you are always faithful,
O Blessed Virgin Mary.
