The Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm celebrated the First Profession of Vows of the four Novices- Sr. Mary Catherine Angeline, Sr. Maureen Paul Angeline, Sr. Luke Mary Angeline and Sr. Mary Hope Therese Angeline.  The Eucharistic celebration was held at Saint Teresa’s Motherhouse in Germantown, NY on October 4, 2014.  We are grateful for the presence of The Most Reverend Harry Joseph Flynn, Archbishop Emeritus of St. Paul and Minneapolis, as the main celebrant.  Very Reverend Mario Esposito, O.Carm. was the Master of Ceremony and Homilist.  Also con-celebrating were Rev. Sunny Matthew, O.Carm., Rev. Xavier Santiago, Rev. Ashley Harrington, O.Carm. Rev. Joseph Nguyen Do, O.Carm., and Rev. Joseph Finch, Chaplain of St. Teresa’s Motherhouse.

The excitement and joy of the occasion were not dampened by the wet and cold rainy day.  As families, invited guests and friends made their way to the Chapel, the smiles and congratulations were seen and heard everywhere.  It was truly a grace-filled day for all present.  How wonderful it was to experience once again the memory and joy of that special day in each of the Sisters lives when she gave herself to God in the profession of religious vows! This was the day the Lord has made- truly it was- and there was reason to rejoice!

The highlights of the day were the taking of the black veils symbolizing the status of a professed Sister; and the giving and receiving of the newly-professed Sister’s “Obedience” or Mission assignments.  When the moment finally arrived, each of the newly-professed went up to the microphone and announced their Obediences:  Sr. Mary Catherine Angeline- Kahl Home in Davenport, IA; Sr. Luke Mary Angeline- Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas, KY; Sr. Maureen Paul Angeline - Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg, PA; and Sr. Mary Hope Therese Angeline- Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas, KY.

We congratulate our Sisters and assure them of our prayers as they leave for their new Missions.  We hope that they find joy and fulfillment as well as receive many blessings as they give themselves to the service of God and His Church!
