Sister Rosemary Heaton, O.Carm. passed away at St. Patrick’s Manor, Framingham, MA on January 7, 2018 in the sixty-sixth year of her religious life.

Rosemary Heaton was born on December 20, 1930 in Chicago, IL to Sarah Agnes (Sutkevich) and Trueman John Heaton.  She entered the Congregation on August 14, 1952, received the habit on April 30, 1953 taking the name Sr. M. Francis Patricia, and later returning to her baptismal name.  She professed first vows on May 3, 1954 and perpetual vows on December 8, 1958.

Among her many missions, Sr. Rosemary spent several years in West Palm Beach, Florida: Lourdes Residence (1962-1967 and 1973-1975) and The Pennsylvania (1980-1989).  She then served at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas, KY (1989-1994) and Kahl Home, Davenport, IA (1994-1995) before being assigned to her final mission at St. Patrick’s Manor in 1995.  In her later years, Sr. Rosemary was a resident of the nursing home but, as late as last week, continued to spend her afternoons helping in Medical Records.  She was a great community person and an ambassador of good will around the Manor.  She also enjoyed making cards on her computer and now and then taking The Ride to Walmart, Staples and her other favorite stores, topped off by an Italian sub at Subway.  Sr. Rosemary had great devotion to the Infant of Prague, and despite her failing condition was faithful to daily Mass and Days of Recollection with the Sisters.

As the Lord manifested Himself to the Wise Men at the Epiphany, may Sr. Rosemary know the fullness of joy as she meets Him face to face.
